Hewn From The Mountain Music Cafe

Hi again,

This is Hewn from the Mountain Music Cafe's second week of being open, and we're making history!
Thanks to all who have patronized our shop so far.

"Have a Cuppa and Jam"
In the previous newsletter, I promised I would explain what this means. 'Have a Cuppa' is a commonly used Australian expression inviting one to partake in a cup of whatever is being served. 'Jamming' is an American expression for what musicians do when they get together. That's it! A catchy catch-phrase . . .

Our Hours
Please take note of our store hours: Wednesday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., & Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
We are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. These are the days where I catch up on my other work: building harps and dulcimers, and getting in some home repair jobs.
Our Holiday Hours will be different. So stay tuned.

Our Website is Alive!
Now you can read all about us on our newly published website. Sign up for an account, and you will be notified about many 'members only' features. Share it with your friends from afar, and they can mail order items directly from us. You will be able to get a picture of the interesting things we have before coming into the store. Check it out:

Yellow Stripes
Good news! I saw some men the other day putting marks on HWY 146 so that it will be easier to enter into the plaza. This has been our number one complaint: accessibility. Now automobiles on HWY 146 will not block our entrance while waiting at the stop light. Cheers!

My lesson schedule is filling up. We have had a violin student, a piano student, a guitar student, someone learning repairs and even a ukelele student! It's so encouraging to see folks working at getting better and better with their playing skills. You know who you are, so if you have feedback about your lesson experience, please let me know. Testimonials are nice resources for new inquiries. Don't worry, I'll keep it confidential if you wish.

Come to the Show!
Several of you have asked: "When are the performances?" I have kept a large section of the store open to make a 'living room' environment where we can hold various FREE cultural and social events. The question is, when is the best time for everyone to attend? We want to make it SPECIAL, with good music, jams, refreshments. I want to invite some notable performers to come at times. Also, a time or times we can hold free workshops on fiddling or dulcimer playing, or whatever your interests are. How does Wednesday evenings sound? Mondays? Tuesdays? Please help me with this.

Congratulations! Please reply to this newsletter within one week or it will be given to the next person. In your reply please indicate whether you will come to the store to get it, or if (and who) you want it mailed to you.
Last weeks recipient wants to donate their gift card to the schools. I think this is great!

And Finally:
Please remember to find us on Facebook and Twitter (just click the links, that's all) and give us a 'like' and 'follow' our Tweets.

. . . And don't forget to stop in for some tea. "Have a Cuppa and Jam"
